A Haptic Simulator for Studying Rest-To-Rest Reaching Movements in Dynamic Environments

چکیده
We present a haptic simulation system with interchangeable physical constraints for studying skillful human movements. The unified haptic interface easily links different physical models with 2D and 3D static spatial constraints and graphical content related to the models. The system was tested on a variety of reaching tasks performed by human subjects. In the experiments, we analyzed motions based on data recorded by a history unit with a frequency of 100Hz. Theoretical and experimental kinematic profiles compared for several cases of basic reaching rest-torest tasks, namely, line-constrained movement during transport of flexible object and parallel flexible object. Experimental patterns exhibit a good agreement with theoretical optimal control models based on jerk and force-change minimization criteria.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of knee extensor and ankle plantar flexor fatigue on dynamic balance among active elderly males. Fifteen healthy individuals having age of 72±6.57 years, height of 168.4±4.8 cm and weight of 70.5±7.4 kg without history of injuries at lower extremity, participated in this study. Knee extensor and ankle plantar flexor muscles fatigued with f...
متن کاملSoft Tissue Modeling Using ANFIS for Training Diagnosis of Breast Cancer in Haptic Simulator
Soft tissue modeling for the creation of a haptic simulator for training medical skills has been the focus of many attempts up to now. In soft tissue modeling the most important parameter considered is its being real-time, as well as its accuracy and sensitivity. In this paper, ANFIS approach is used to present a nonlinear model for soft tissue. The required data for training the neuro-fuzzy mo...
متن کاملOn the Influence of Hand Dynamics on Motion Planning of Reaching Movements in Haptic Environments
The paper presents an analysis of human reaching movements in the manipulation of flexible objects. Two models, the minimum hand jerk and the minimum driving hand forcechange, are used for modelling and verification of experimental data. The data are collected with the haptic system supporting dynamic simulation of the flexible object in real time. We describe some initial experimental results ...

متن کاملInteractive dynamic simulation using haptic interaction
This paper describes an interactive dynamic simulator for virtual environments which allows user interaction via a haptic interface. The interactive simulation is performed in our testbed dynamic simulator I-GMS, which has been developed in an object-oriented framework for simulating motions of free bodies and complex linkages such as those needed for robotic systems or human body simulation. U...
